Push for Children and Young Adults to get MMR jab as cases rise

Patients aged up to 25 years of age and parents have been encouraged to urgently contact their GP surgery to catch-up on their MMR vaccinations if needed, with concerns that infection rates are rising.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has released data showing that measles infection rates are continuing to rise and has warned of the risk of a further increase in cases in the new school term.

"Measles is one of the most infectious diseases in the world and can cause serious harm to adults and children of all ages," said Steve Russell, NHS England's director of vaccinations and screening.

Too many eligible young people and children remain unvaccinated; please contact us to arrange an appointment or to clarify administration of vaccine.
